Birthday, Field Day and Chocolate Chip Cookie Bowls!

We all have these weeks where you wake up and it's Friday and you wonder how you made it through all the events of the week! Well, I had one of those weeks. Not a bad thing, quite fun actually! Here's what we were up to!

SUNDAY:

The girls love to bake and are always experimenting. They tried their hand at Chocolate Chip Cookie bowls! They turned out great and they were delicious! Good jobs girls!

MONDAY:

We had a terrible storm come through Sunday so on Monday, we watched as a tree that had fallen was cut down. The girls remarked that after hearing the tree cracking then coming to an enormous boom as it was cut from the base, they felt really bad for it. They said it was very sad to know that it was now dead and that the cracking as it was falling seemed like it was crying. Our children are very empathetic.

They watched as it was placed into a chipper and made into wood chips.

The day was made a little better when we got our Teaching Textbooks 7 in the mail. The girls got started right away. We school year round and our school year begins in January, so we're not starting at the end of the year like it seems. We skipped through to lesson 21 because they were already up to speed with the topics covered in the early lessons.

TUESDAY:

Tuesday, we did a little playing and growing!

WEDNESDAY:

Wednesday was a big day! The twins turned ELEVEN! I reminisced and cried a bit but that's typical for me. Come on, I can't be the only mom who cries each time one of her children celebrates a birthday.

We also had our homeschool field day. The girls had a ton of fun!

The girls are big foodies and enjoy watching all those cooking/baking shows. One of their favorites is Cupcake Wars. They watched the season where Miss Mamie won. Turns out her cupcakery is near us. So if was off to Miss Mamie's to enjoy birthday cupcakes...and get autographs!

Then we headed back home to open gifts. They have been wanting aprons for a while and so...you guessed it, they got aprons! One of the things they love most about the aprons is that they have Bible verses on them. "How sweet are your words to my taste" Psalm 119:103 and Psalm 34:8, "Taste and see that the Lord is good."

THURSDAY:
Thursday, the girls used some of their birthday money to treat me to Starbucks and we went shopping! We got 5 skirts and 6 tops for $60 total! I think we did well!

FRIDAY:

It's Friday!

Friday, we have short days and so here we are finishing up the week! Looking back it was a great one!

Now, your turn! Tell me all the fun you had this week!

  1. What a great school room! Your week looks like a good one. We had a super busy one too, and celebrate a birthday tomorrow. Today, it's birthday cake baking and getting tomorrow's chores out of the way so one birthday boy can go fishing instead. :)
